Despite the fact that Wednesday is the least summery TV show of all time, Jenna Ortega has taken over summer 2025 with her press and premiere looks, including bleached brows, waist-length extensions, and softly smoky brown shadows, paired as always with her now-signature darkly glamorous gowns and suits. Ortega and her team incorporate elements of goth, grunge, and punk into her red carpet looks from head to toe, leaving no detail unexamined, but the latest iteration may be her grungiest yet—in a good way!

For a special Netflix and Spotify “Graveyard Gala” in New York City, Ortega hit the red carpet with her dark hair styled to look soaking wet, with chunky, piecey, separated texture reminiscent of both the ‘90s grunge aesthetic and Y2K, when similar wet-look styles were de rigueur on the red carpet for a time. A few tendrils were brushed in front of her face for a peekaboo effect. I’m 99 percent sure I tried to recreate a similar look with a John Freida texture product called Funky Chunky back in 2001. While I could easily see Ortega's wet hair styled with a babydoll dress, cardigan, and boots or a Britney Spears-style midriff top and low-rise jeans, she wore it with a shredded custom Gap gown, which was the ideal match for the piecey, undone texture. (Yes, that dress is from the Gap!)

For her glam, Ortega replaced the brown-toned shadows she's been wearing for much of this Wednesday press cycle in favor of a light, cool gray to match her dress. Her brows remained bleached, all the better to set off that gorgeous smoky eye and dark lower liner, finished off with a neutral rosy-brown lip.

Fall is on the horizon and Wednesday season two premiered a few weeks ago, so if you're ready to indulge your inner Ortega and mix up your beauty routine with a goth-grunge-glam spin, grab a bottle of gel and some brow bleach, because there's really no better time than the present.
